We are using the Target area in Deals for two purposes - one as a holder for client contacts (who to follow up with on the Deal) and one as possible candidates people we know would be right for the role if we win the Deal). In a perfect world, you would add something similar to the Project candidate grid view so we could add people as Client contact, research, etc....AND then when the Deal is won and converted to a Project, those names/records move with it, so the project moves quickly once the Deal is won.
